I first picked up a whisk in 2015 while working as a graphic designer in Portland, Oregon, and I quickly realized that the kitchen was my favorite canvas. My friends begged me for the recipes I was improvising for dinner parties, so in early 2016 I launched cookingflavorhub as a simple WordPress blog to share those dishes. What began as a handful of posts about weeknight meals soon turned into a daily habit of testing, photographing, and writing about food that felt like a true creative outlet.

By the end of 2020 the site was pulling in about 10,000 unique visitors each month, and I celebrated the milestone with a downloadable e‑book of my “30‑Minute Weeknight Wonders.” In 2022 I introduced a subscription newsletter that now reaches over 12,000 food lovers, and the following year we crossed 50,000 monthly pageviews, prompting me to add a small video series on YouTube. As of March 2024 cookingflavorhub hosts more than 350 tested recipes, a searchable ingredient index, and a community forum where members share their own twists.

I live in Asheville, North Carolina, with my husband, Alex, and our two energetic kids, Lily (7) and Noah (4). When I’m not stirring a pot, you’ll find me hiking the Blue Ridge Mountains, tending to my herb garden on the back porch, or listening to classic jazz while the kids do their homework. My favorite foods are simple—think a perfectly seared salmon, a bowl of fresh tomato basil soup, and the occasional slice of homemade apple pie.

One quirky habit I’ve kept since the blog’s early days is writing every new recipe in my handwritten journal before I type it up; the pages are a colorful mix of doodles, margin notes, and occasional coffee stains. It reminds me that cooking, at its heart, is a personal conversation between ingredients, the cook, and the people who sit down to share the meal.
